Cracker Butterfly
These wings are spotted in tones of gray, white and a little brown and blue. I cover the wings with clear resin and hang them from handmade sterling silver pins that i twist by hand to make the hooks. They belong to the species Hamadryas guatemalena. They are called crackers because they can produce sound with their wings, especially the males. Beautiful species.
All my products are made from of butterflies that we breed in our farm and that i have collected carefully for many years in our butterfly breeding areas, surrounding open gardens or the adjacent forest.
